Windows Vista Shortcut Keys with the Window Button

Pressing the Window key on your keyboard brings up the Start Menu. In addition to Start Menu, you can perform bunch of activities by pressing some buttons with Windows Button. Here is a list of keyboard shortcut keys that utilize Windows Button as well:

  • Windows + B – To set focus to first icon in the notification area. You can use arrow keys to move among the icons in the notification area and Press Tab to move on the Task Bar
  • Window + D – To show Desktop
  • Windows + E – To Open the Windows Explorer
  • Windows + F – To activate Search Function
  • Windows + L – Locks Workstation
  • Windows + M – To minimize all open windows
  • Windows + Shift + M – To undo minimize all windows
  • Window + R – To open the Run Dialog Box
  • Windows + Tab – For 3D Flips
  • Windows + Pause/Break – To open System properties
  • Windows + F1 – For Windows Help
  • Windows + U – To open ease of Access Settings
  • Windows + Spacebar – To expand and show the sidebar
  • Window + Ctrl + Tab – To bring up the Flip 3D, but it will stay on the desktop to scroll up, down, left and right.
  • Windows + T – To tab between application buttons on taskbar
  • Windows + 1 – To open the first application in Quick Launch Bar
  • Windows + 2 – To open the second application in Quick Launch Bar
  • Windows + 3 – To open the third application in Quick Launch Bar
