Basic Computer Shortkeys

Here is a list of basic PC shortcut keys that will be useable on almost all IBM compatible computers and software programs. All PC users should memorize these keys. It is good to increase your productivity.

Alt + F – To open file menu option in current program

Alt + E – To open edit option in current open program

F1 – For universal help in almost every windows program

Ctrl + A – To select all

Ctrl + X – To cut the selected item/items

Shift + Del – To cut selected item/items

Ctrl + C – To copy the selected item/items

Ctrl + Ins – To copy the selected item/items

Ctrl + V – To paste

Shift + Ins – To Paste

Home – To Go to beginning of current line

Ctrl + Home – To go to beginning of document

End – To go to end of current line

Ctrl + End – To go to end of document

Shift + Home – To highlight from current position to beginning of line

Shift + End – To highlight from current position to end of line

Ctrl + Left Arrow – To move one word to left at a time

Ctrl + Right Arrow – To move one word to right at a time
