General Keyboard Shortcuts for Hotmail

Here is a list of Hotmail Keyboard shortcuts that will help you in conducting general email operations.

  • Esc: To close the current message
  • Ctrl + N: To compose a new email message
  • Del: To Delete the email (s) message currently in selection
  • Ctrl + Shift + J: Make the current emails as junk
  • Ctrl + U: To make the current email message as unread
  • Ctrl + Q: Make the current email message as read
  • Ctrl + Shift + V: Move email message to Hotamil folder
  • Ctrl + Shift + P: Take the print of currently opened mail
  • Ctrl + R: Send Reply to current message
  • Ctrl + Shift + R: Send reply to all mails
  • Ctrl + Shift + F: To forward the current email message
  • Ctrl + . : Show the next message
  • Ctrl + ,:To show the previous email message
  • S,A: Press S then A to select all messages inside the email folder currently visible
  • S, N: Hit S then N to remove the selection from currently selected mails
  • F, I: Press F then I to go in Hotmail inbox
  • F + D: To go to Drafts folder
  • F, S: To go to Sent folder
  • Ctrl + B: Makes select text bold
  • Ctrl + I: Makes selected text italic
  • Ctrl + K: To insert a link
  • Ctrl + U: To underline the select text
  • Ctrl + Enter: Send the current email text
  • Ctrl + S: Save as Draft
  • F7: To apply spell check feature on the typed text
  • Ctrl + A: To select all content
  • Ctrl + C: To copy the selected text
  • Ctrl + X: To cut the selected text
  • Ctrl + V: To paste the text you currently have in clipboard
  • Ctrl + Y: To apply redo feature
  • Ctrl + Z: To apply feature of Undo
  • Ctrl + Home: To go to the beginning of the emails
  • Home: To go to the beginning of the current line
  • End: To go to the end of the current line
  • Ctrl + End: To go to the end of email message
