Wordpad Tips and Tricks

Wordpad is a free text processor application. This application is available in Microsoft Windows operating systems. Microsoft Wordpad allows you to view, edit and create text files. Wordpad has additional features as compared to Notepad application. You can change fonts, format text of documents and have multimedia files like sound and graphic files embedded in your text document. There are few WordPad tips and tricks to increase its functionality. You can be an effective Wordpad user by following these tips and tricks:

Embedded Objects

Wordpad lets you to embed objects within your text document. You can embed sound or graphic files in Wordpad document. It can be helpful for you if you don’t have access to the original multimedia file. Menu of Wordpad will provide you “copy and paste” options to paste an embedded object from another file directly into Wordpad.

Add Trademark or Copyright

If you want to include a trademark or copyright symbol in Wordpad file, you can do this easily. You can insert the copyright symbol by holding the “Alt” key and typing “0169”. Trademark symbol can be inserted in Wordpad file by holding “Alt” and typing “8482”.

Change List Type

WordPad provides you option to create lists using bullet points. You can try another bullet style for your list like counting, alphabets etc. Highlight your text and press keyboard shortcut “Shift” + “Ctrl” + “L” and the list types will cycle through. You can get your desired bullet list by pressing this short key several times.

Convert to Caps

If you habitually forget use of caps during typing, don’t worry. If you require whole text in caps, you can do this within one second. You don’t need to re-type your text in all caps. Here is a shortcut key to do this. Highlight required text and press “Shift” + “Ctrl” + “A” and the selected text will format to capital letters.
